During your first consultation our certified trainers will sit with you and discuss your previous exercise history as well as your goals and any specific concerns you have. We will help you pick the plan that is best for you. We generally recommend starting with one EMS training session per week, and working up to two sessions per week. You can always upgrade your plan.
Absolutely. We recommend not strength training 24-48 hours before and after your Tummo EMS sessions. But cardio exercise is encouraged. Running or just walking is a great addition to Tummo EMS training.
We set aside 90 minutes for your first session, although many clients are done in an hour. Your personal trainer will go over your goals, exercise experience, and any concerns you have. You will be provided a new pair of specially designed long underwear that are yours to keep. Your trainer will take you initial body measurement on our BCS Elite Body Composition Scale as well as your before pictures (for your reference only). Your trainer will make sure you are adequately hydrated, and will help you put on the suit. We will run an “impulse familiarization program” so you can feel what the electric impulses are like, and you and your trainer will determine where the comfortable levels are for you. You will then be guided through your first EMS workout. The very first workout is only 12 minutes long, followed up with a 5 minute “body relax” mode. You will build up to the 20 minute workouts during your first month as your body gets used to EMS training.

No, it’s actually much safer than traditional forms of strength training. The most common negative side effect is muscle cramps due to not being adequately hydrated prior to the training session. This can easily be avoided by drinking water before, during, and after your session.
You are always able to book an additional session, however our monthly plans are designed to be the most economical option for you, so upgrading you plan might be a better option.

There are different techniques and frequencies to use on the machine for bulking, and others for slimming/toning. You will not look like a body builder if you don’t want to. EMS studies in females have shown there was no increases in size despite significant increases in strength, consequently fears about “huge mountains of muscle” are unfounded (apparently hormone related)
The same concerns that arise with adolescents regarding traditional strength training remain present in EMS training. Mainly, that starting before they finish puberty could potentially stunt their growth. Anyone under the age of 18 will need their parents signature to participate in Tummo EMS workouts. We would recommend they use only the endurance mode on the machine (not the strength training mode) and combine it with one-on-one strength training sessions with our certified trainers using more conventional training methods.
